Day trip down river to Bristol Docks Saturday 24th June

Posted in Social Events on May 31, 2017 By Cian Hooper

Richard G is volunteering to organise a 'day out’ along the lines of the cream teas trips of recent years but going the other way from the club.

The ambition is to get as far as the docks in Bristol but that all depends on how fast we get through the locks and if/how long we decide to stop on the way. Possible places to stop on route will be decided closer to the date but possiblilities include Beese’s Riverside Bar for tea and cakes at Hanham and/or Brunel’s Buttery in Bristol Docks where they do a mean bacon sandwich and teas/coffees.

Costs should be around £5 per head to cover the fuel for the power boats. If we get as far as the floating harbour (beyond Netham lock) there is also a 24 hour navigation permit fee of £7.40 per boat, so we will split these fees across the number of people in the boats on the day.

There will be limited seats/spaces on board so first come first served so please contact Andy C to book (check your email for contact details). The £5 cost will be collected in advance and we will deal with the harbour fees on the day, just in case we don’t make it that far.

We need to know numbers of people before close of business on the 1st June so please contact Andy ASAP.
