Just a note to remind you all that the club is open on both Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend.
Saturday is for ‘free sailing’ all day with safety boat cover from 11:00 to 15:00. There are no specific races organised and club boats can be booked out from the duty officer on a first come, first served basis. This is a great chance for our ‘new sailors’ to practice and hone their newly trained sailing skills.
Sunday has four races in the calendar. Two are especially for our ‘new sailors’. One normal and one sprint. Again, club boats will be booked out by the duty officer on the day on a first come, first served basis. The first race of the day is at 11:00. The ‘new sailor’ races start at 13:00 and 14:15. The last race starts at 15:00. Remember, all competitors must sign on at least 20 mins before the advertised race start time.
Newly graduated trainees are also welcome to take part in all races, not just those created especially for ’new sailors'. All other members will be instructed to give our ‘new sailors’ priority on the water in any potential collision situations or rights of way disputes until they have perfected their racing skills.
See you at the weekend,
P.S. Note: there is also the regular Thursday evening race starting at 19:00 and all racing is, as always, wind and weather permitting.
